Cozy Cabin Floating Home | Interior Architecture + Design

Nestled among the docks of Lake Union, this floating home was remodeled to become a cozy and whimsical cabin for a family to not only live in, but play in. After a day of boating and cruising around the lake, this floating home is the perfect landing pad: the adventurer’s respite. Within its walls, the viewer is enveloped by layers of deep colors, rustic textures and transitional adornments. Hand-hewn woods, rich textiles such as leather and plaids, and naval metal accents will combine a sense of adventure and the open sea with luxury living.

The remodel incorporated many custom elements, including those that create spaces that let a child’s imagination wander freely, where the design allowed for creativity, playfulness, and sophistication to blend. This project is a perfectly paired space with nautical and classic warm elements that makes this floating cabin feel like both an escape and a home, in the heart of Seattle.
