Whimsigoth Cottage Addition | Interior Design + Architecture

A few years ago, this couple moved into their forever home. As their lives have unfolded inside of it, they’ve gotten to know the house and are ready to make it more functional for them and their potential future family. The project goals are to combine the kitchen and formal dining space to create an ultra-functional cooking, baking, + working space. The primary bathroom will be completely refreshed with new finishes and fixtures with floral fancy. The addition then extends the rear of the home to create more space for a primary bedroom and a “ catio” (covered patio) off the kitchen that will allow them and their pets to enjoy the outdoor space even during Seattle’s signature rain and gloom.

Blending the mysticism of gothic style with whimsical & bohemian themes, the project is centered around making better use of the spaces and celebrating their personal inspiration. The interior design and architectural finishes are characterized by rich textures, deep colors, and layers of intricate details tailored to their love of vintage accessories and eclectic vibes. Each space - new or reimagined - is expertly curated to add elements of fantasy, nature, and mystery in a cozy way.
